Ms. Malm has served as the MSOE Education Director for 14 years. Her duties include classroom operations, recruitment/retention of teaching staff, parental advocacy, and assisting teachers in implementing learning strategies that equip MSOE children to be lifelong learners. She was also instrumental in facilitating and maintaining our NAEYC accreditation status ensuring that MSOE adheres to higher standards of quality for Early Childhood Education. She also maintains standards in reporting to the Office of Early Childhood (OEC) and Department of Public Health (DPH). Ms. Malm supervises and evaluates the teaching staff, leads parent/teacher orientations, and serves as mediator between teachers and parents. Under her leadership, the teaching staff remains current on required credentials. She also maintains partnerships with community agencies and coordinates referrals as needed. She actively promotes the MSOE program through a variety of sources including: telephone inquiries; virtual and in-person tours; and collaborations with community agencies and local colleges for prospective enrollment and employment. Ms. Malm earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Art Education with concentration in Early Childhood Special Education at SUNY College at Buffalo. She is pursuing her Masters’ Degree in Early Childhood Education. In her spare time, she enjoys yoga/meditation, fine dining, traveling, hiking, cooking/baking, gatherings with family and friends, and spending time at home with her husband and their two cats.
